Code: SDT-8
Duration: 08.00 am. – 05.00 pm.
Itinerary :
Leave Chiang Mai to drive on the countryside road to Chom Tong District southwest of Chiang Mai. First stop at Mae Ya waterfall (the most beautiful waterfall in Chiang Mai). Then we will spend an hour to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall and swim, depending on the season. After that we will drive to Wachiratharn waterfall (another famous beautiful waterfall of Doi Inthanon National Park). Then we’ll rest for a Thai lunch at the waterfall. Then drive up the mountain to visit the highest point of Thailand (2,565 meters above sea level) and visit the great pagodas on the mountain. Then back onto the beautiful mountain road to Mae Chaem District. We’ll stay overnight with the local villagers and enjoy the evening and have dinner with them. They are always willing to help you learn about the Thai style of life. Later in the evening you will enjoy a hot mineral bath at hot spring in the village, depending on the season.
We’ll enjoy a nice breakfast, then tea and coffee while taking in the scenery.
Get ready for tubing day!
After a short drive we’ll get ready to start tubing down the Mae Chaem River. We’ll enjoy the tranquil beauty of the river, and stop for a jungle-style lunch along the way. (Alcoholic refreshments are available for the whole trip!) You can try Thai-style fishing or just take in the surroundings. This can be a party AND a relaxing experience…it’s up to you! We’ll get picked up at the end of the day then head back for dinner and another great night in the village.
Day 3
Wake up to another tasty breakfast, tea and coffee.
Leave the village and drive on the countryside road up the mountain to see the hill tribe villages and the beautiful scenery of Chiang Mai with lunch on the way. Then we will drive to a Karen hill tribe village where we’ll stay overnight with the villagers. You will have a 90% chance of seeing gibbons and great horn-bill birds around the village. After we arrive and have a short rest we will hike about 1 hour to the big cave near the village where you can see remains of where monks used to live hundreds of years ago. When we return you will see and learn about the life style, culture and language of the hill tribe people who live on the mountain.
Day 4
Wake up with the sounds of the village and a delicious breakfast with tea and coffee.
A little later we’ll leave the village and drive back onto the interesting off road up the mountain to see more hill tribe villages and experience more of the wonderful countryside Chiang Mai has to offer. On the way we’ll stop for lunch and a rest then continue onwards to the Samoeng District where our first stop will be at the bat caves. Then you can choose between 3 places of interest where we’ll stop, either at the hot spring for a warm mineral bath and time you to relax, or continue driving to the orchid farms in the Mae Rim District where we can walk through the fields to see the many different types of orchid flower in Thailand, or finally we can drive to the cockfighting learning and exhibition centre located just outside of the city. Afterwards we will drive back to Chiang Mai City.
